The Opera Bell Band is a Saint Louis based outfit with a madcap, eclectic style. Their work is a colorful hash of American musical traditions: wall-of-sound rock n roll, exuberant pop triviality, novelty jazz, jugband, Tin Pan Alley, calypso, cajun, and country-western balladry. Live shows incorporate elements of vaudeville, surrealist sketch comedy, and folk theater.

​The band has a reputation as an energetic multimedia machine, known for digging into the realms of film, sculpture, interactive public art, poetry, and so on. Their stop-motion animated short film, Green Lemon Buggy, was awarded by Cinema St. Louis and featured in the St. Louis International Film Festival, and their second album, Bell-Slide was named by the Riverfront Times as one of the top ten local albums of 2019. Giant Crab, releasing May 18th at Cunst, is their 3rd album.
